The Inspiration Story
The foundation of JR Elysium Wellness LLC is built upon a legacy of profound healing and intuitive care. Its journey begins with my grandfather, who suffered a catastrophic heart attack at just 35 years old. Following life-saving open-heart surgery, the conventional medicine path offered little beyond medication. It was my grandmother, Janet Robertson, who stepped in to pioneer a holistic recovery that would preserve his quality of life for decades to come.
Long before supplements and dietary support were mainstream, Janet navigated his recovery through home-cooked nutrition, careful supplementation, lifestyle routines, and constant spiritual support. She created a comforting “home atmosphere” where healing was nurtured by a grandmother's tea, a warm seat on the couch, and a presence that truly listened. This experience shaped my childhood and my fundamental belief in the body’s ability to heal when given the right tools and environment.
Drawn to healthcare, I spent years in emergency medicine at numerous hospitals across the country, witnessing firsthand as patients arrived sicker and sicker. I saw a system designed only for symptom management, where root causes were buried and individuals were often lost in the noise of bureaucratic efficiency. It was here that my passion for functional medicine was ignited, a desire to step out of the shadows of palliative symptoms and into the light of true, root-cause healing.
I named this company after my grandmother, Janet Robertson, because I believe everyone deserves a “Janet” in their life, someone who sits with you, listens to you, and does not dismiss your concerns. Here, I marry clinical expertise with that same grandmotherly holistic wisdom, ensuring you never feel alone in your health journey.
